Ladies and Gentleman! Last night was a historic night for Righteous Movement! We were the recipients of the 2008 SN&R Award!!!!

The 2008 SN&R Award was only given to three artists in Sacramento. The award is to recognize the impact that each artists has had on the entire music scene in Sacramento, as well as the strides they take to promote Sacramento in every city that they touch.

It feels great to be recognized for such a prestigious award, especially during our times of doubt. Sometimes it feels like the things we do are similar to trees falling in the forest with no one around to hear them, and getting this award let’s us know that the struggle is not in vain. Righteous Movement is a progression towards a better place in life, and awards like this prove that we are on the right track.

We would like to thank everyone who came out last night, and everyone who wanted to be there but couldn’t. We have been getting a lot of congratulations emails, text, and phone calls… And we want to say thank you to each and every one of you!

In the midst of the commotions, we didn’t get a lot of pictures, but we will be taking an official picture and posting it up for all you to see!!

We will also be having are official celebration party at Capitol Garage on Thursday, July 24, 2008. Please come out and celebrate with us! The accomplishment wouldn’t have been possible without each and every one of you!! The show starts at 9pm and is $8 at the door. Please…. Be sure to get there early because this will be a huge show!!

A while ago Josh Fernandez over at the Sacramento News & Review did an interview with us, and after telling us, “It will be out next week” for 10 weeks in a row, it is FINALLY on the stands. And it better than we expected… Some how (we heard he was going to quit if it didn’t happen), WE ARE ON THE COVER OF THE SACRAMENTO NEWS & REVIEW!!!

Wait…. We’ll repeat that because we know you prolly don’t think you read it right…

Yo!! What’s going on people? Check it out…. We have been thinking that we wouldn’t be Righteous Movement if it wasn’t for you all… So to repay you, we will be recording live footage from our show on June 11th, and using the footage for our next video!!!

Yo… What’s good everybody!! We just wanted to check in and let everyone that we are still alive and kicking… We have been busy recording FOUR ALBUMS (I’ll give you more of that in another post) that will be hitting the streets this summer, so be on the look out!!!

In the meantime, over the last couple months, we’ve had the pleasure to work with homie Fotoluco on a photo essay that he was working on for his class. It is finally finished, and we are proud to say he finished as the TOP 3 in his class… Check it out and enjoy.

What’s going on people. This Weekend was a big weekend for us… With a lot of coverage from the media outlets due to the liver performance at the Concert In The Park where we got down with long time friends Bucho (Not Boocko)… From newspaper coverage to radio and television coverage, the name Righteous Movement was introduced to millions of people in one day!

First of all, lets start with the Sacramento Bee… They did a nice feature on the Concert In The Park to hype the show and mentioned Righteous Movement… (Thanks Mr. Chris Macias)….

Secondly, we were invited to do a live interview on Capital Public Radio with the people from Insight. We had a great time thanks to Jeffrey Callison, Robyn Souza, Jen Picard, and the sound guy who we called Jesus)… They made us feel real comfortable while we were there and had us laughing the whole time…. They are truly great people…

Last but not least… KCRA 3 did a new clip after the Concert In The Park which featured us as the part that they chose to broadcast… Check it out and tell us what you think…

I am not the one to be all on youtube every day all day… But when I do get on, I always find something interesting. Today, I found this video below of a little girl bangin with the gloves… Talk about iron fist… from the looks of this video, we will be hearing a lot about this little one in the years to come… I’m looking at ways to recruit her for the Righteous Movement 2020 boxing team right now! Pep this video, and tell me what you think… for all ya’ll with kids now… Start training them yesterday…
